Brie Witt

Senior Account Manager
Brie manages client transactions for all renewables and casualty risks for PERse. Prior to joining PERse, Brie was an Account Manager for one of the largest underwriting managers of renewable projects worldwide. Brie has her Property and Casualty Insurance License.

Kristina Williams

Director, Claims
Kristina Williams has over 20 years of related insurance and claims management experience. Most of her career has been spent specializing in the management of large, complex renewable energy property and casualty losses. In addition to direct claims management, Kristina has built a diligent and knowledgeable claims team to provide proper and efficient claims handling. Kristina and her team strive to provide excellent claims service to PERse’s clients and capacity.

Andrew Truong

Underwriter
Andrew began his insurance career in 2016 working on both the Business Development and Underwriting team at one of the largest underwriting managers specializing in renewable energy. Andrew’s strong relationships with both retail and wholesale brokers across North America have allowed him to underwrite both property and casualty insurance for solar, wind, and battery energy storage projects across their operational life.

Moussa Sy

Associate Underwriter
Moussa Sy has a Master’s degree in chemical engineering, emphasis in Renewable Energy Systems from Syracuse University, originally hailing from Bamako, Mali. Moussa is an Associate Underwriter/ Technical Services Risk Engineer focusing on renewable energy. He received his Bachelor’s in Environmental Science-Renewable Energy at San Jose State University. During his undergraduate studies, he interned with the City of San Jose Public Works Energy Department, working on utility data for over 400 city facilities. In addition, at San Jose State University, he worked as a research assistant on solar energy irrigation for agriculture in developing countries. While attending Syracuse University, his passion for the environmental space continued while conducting research in a renewable energy lab; working closely with PhD students on developing cathodes such as calcium chromium and calcium manganese oxide.

Hollie Spinks

Claims Associate
Hollie has over 3 years' experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining PERse, Hollie was on the administrative side of Broking at WTW in the Mergers and Acquisitions team, while also studying for the Level 4 CII London Market qualification.

Jonathan Simes

Claims Manager – North America, London
Jonathan Simes has 14 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s of London insurance industry in a variety of Claims positions. Prior to joining PERse, Jonathan was a Claims Executive at RKH Specialty handling various accounts specializing in the Renewable Energy sector.

MaryAnn Sciascia

Underwriter
MaryAnn began her career in underwriting with Hiscox USA, where she worked as an Underwriting Assistant for their Kidnap & Ransom, Construction, Inland Marine, and Misc E&O lines of business. After working in primary insurance for 5 years, she transitioned to Reinsurance. She began her career in Reinsurance with XL Re as an Underwriting/Contract Analyst, where she performed a dual role of contract analyst/underwriting assistant. She supported various departments such as A&H, Casualty and Property Treaty/Fac. After XL Re, she joined TransRe as a Technical Assistant. She supported their Property Treaty and Facultative Department. After being in Reinsurance for almost 9 years, she transitioned to a MGA. She began her career with PERse as an Underwriting Assistant then was promoted to Associate Underwriter and now she is currently an Underwriter. She underwrites property and liability for various lines of renewable energy.

Mandy Saunders

Underwriter
Mandy has been in the insurance industry for the past 24 years and servicing bio, hydro, onshore wind, utility scale solar, and battery energy storage accounts specifically for the past 10 years with one of the largest underwriting managers of renewable energy projects. Mandy manages working closely with brokers on new and renewal opportunities, writing both property and casualty insurance in the United States and Canada.

Jeff Richards

Senior Underwriter
Jeff has over 35 years of experience in the insurance industry. The first half of his career was spent as a fire protection engineering consultant moving up to a National Manager of Property Loss Control for a large insurance company. For a new challenge, he worked as a property broker before moving back to the insurer side the last 15 years as an underwriter for two large renewable energy insurance companies. Jeff’s engineering background and previous experience in the utility sectors has led him on his current path of providing renewable energy insurance and service to large utility companies.

Jimmy Perry

Director, Operations
Jimmy has 6 years of underwriting and operations experience in the US property insurance space. Prior to joining PERse, Jimmy was an Associate Underwriter and Chief Administrative Officer at JEM Underwriting Managers, Ryan Specialty’s property catastrophe MGU. Jimmy has a BA from The University of Notre Dame and an MBA from The University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Edward Martinez

Senior Risk Account Engineer
Ed has almost 10 years’ experience in power generation since graduating from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Before joining PERse in May of 2023, Ed had spent his entire career at a 2x1 800MW combined cycle plant in Maryland, quickly moving up the ranks from generation engineer to reliability engineer to control room operator and, finally, to shift supervisor.

Ed has been involved in the investigation, analysis and final preparation of RCAs for events that occurred at the plant and then in implementing changes to increase performance and safety.

He has experience in reviewing plans of electrical / mechanical drawings, rotating machinery, gearboxes, transformers and substations, plant supervisory control and battery systems, construction, electrical collection and distribution systems and fire protection.

Ed’s knowledge spans the range from the inspection, testing and maintenance of all the power plant systems to the comprehensive reviews and assessments during the annual outages to the commissioning of equipment and systems to the day-today safety and loss control programs so vital to all types of power generation. He is certified by the Global Wind Organization (GWO) with his OnShore Basic Safety Training (BST)

Michelle Lee

Claims Examiner
Michelle brings over 15 years of claims handling experience to the table. Her robust background includes previous claims positions at Westchester (a Chubb company), Ironshore, and Liberty Mutual, where she has primarily focused on the energy, construction, and property lines of business.

Chelsey Koren

Associate Underwriter
Chelsey begins her insurance career as an Associate Underwriter, bringing four years of sales/finance experience across the medical device and luxury automotive industries. She has a B.S. in Biology from Colgate University where her interest in the environmental space began. Her focus at PERse is a commitment to advance the renewable energy sector.

Emelie Klehr

Senior Underwriter
Emelie has over 8 years of experience in the insurance industry, specifically in the renewable energy space. She specializes in underwriting property and casualty insurance for onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage risks across North America. Emelie has a B.S. in Marketing and International Business from Penn State University and an MBA with a specialization in Risk Management and Insurance from St. John’s University. In 2023 she was named Underwriting Rising Star of Year by Insurance Insider US.

Tom Kaley

Senior Risk Account Engineer
Tom has over 9 years of experience as a civil engineer working in engineering design consulting. His experience is in midstream and downstream oil and gas as well as in industrial water/wastewater, where he spent most of his career. As a lead project engineer, Tom managed and executed projects from conception to startup to provide complex water/wastewater solutions for clients in various industries, such as power, chemical production, and pharmaceutical. His project roles incorporated both field and desktop design and included executing site assessments and collecting information from site personnel; reviewing and analyzing operational data, drawings, and site history; assessing the configuration, condition, and operational practices of treatment systems to evaluate root causes of operational issues, potential points of failure, and opportunities for optimization; development of design solutions and design documents, such as design reports, modeling summaries, drawings, cost estimates, and schedules; coordinating with other engineering disciplines on detailed design; developing and leading design presentations for clients; and performing construction oversight and contractor management. Outside of technical project work, Tom has experience in project management, proposal and client development, and management of a treatability lab and its staff. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Pennsylvania and New York. Tom has B.S. in Civil Engineering from Penn State University.

Callum Jones

Claims Associate
Callum has several years' experience in the insurance industry as both a claims technician and a reinsurance technician. Prior to joining PERse, Callum worked for the likes of Davies Group, The Channel Syndicate and SCOR.

Odette Infante

Associate Underwriter
Odette has over 5 years of insurance experience. Prior to joining PERse, Odette was a licensed producer after graduating from Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelor's degree in psychology. During her time as a licensed producer, Odette developed positive client relationships, leading to an expanded book of business, which focused on property, liability and NATCAT coverages.

Jack George

Associate Underwriter
Jack specializes in property insurance for the solar, battery storage, & onshore wind sectors, where he has experience working with some of the industry’s largest Independent Power Producers and Developers globally assisting in underwriting projects across their entire life cycle. Prior to joining PERse full time in 2018, Jack completed an internship with PERse in London and graduated from Elon University, where he received a Bachelor’s degree in finance and management.

Gary Fleming

Risk Engineering Practice Leader
Gary has over 35 years of experience as a property and machinery breakdown risk control engineer with the past 10 years focused on renewable energy technologies including onshore wind, solar, geothermal, battery energy storage, hydrogen, fuel cells, bio-energy and offshore wind. While at PERse, Gary has written and delivered over 30 presentations on a variety of subjects and participated on a number of panels at industry conferences. He is a registered Professional Engineer in North Carolina and is certified by the Global Wind Organization (GWO) with his OnShore and Offshore Basic Safety Training (BST). Gary was formerly licensed by the National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors Commission.

Samson Bienstock

Underwriter Assistant
As an Underwriting Assistant, Samson applies engineering knowledge, acquired from Tufts University, to help underwrite sustainable projects. His professional focus is on advancing the renewable energy sector.

Kaitlin Baldwin

Senior Underwriter
For her first 7 years in the insurance industry, Kaitlin focused solely on professional liability and casualty business in the upstream and downstream parts of the energy sector, working on both claims and underwriting. In the last 5 years, Kaitlin began the underwriting of both property and casualty specific to renewable energy insurance while joining one of the larger underwriting managers of renewable energy projects. Now continuing on with her career at PERse, Kaitlin is responsible for the property and casualty underwriting of wind, solar and battery energy storage business.

Kristin Daur

Executive Vice President – Underwriting
In her 14 years of insuring renewable energy projects, Kristin has cultivated relationships to fuel the success of her underwriting capacity providers and clients throughout the renewable energy space. Kristin began her career in 2010 at one of the largest underwriting managers of renewable energy projects worldwide and has since enjoyed a strong career at PERse across underwriting and management roles. In 2020, Kristin was named an Elite Woman in Insurance by Insurance Business America.

Jeffrey Smith

President & Chief Underwriting Officer
Jeffrey Smith has 19 years of experience in the renewable energy insurance industry in various underwriting, management, and sales positions. Prior to joining PERse, Jeffrey was Vice President and Underwriting Officer for one of the largest underwriting managers of renewable projects worldwide. His primary responsibility was underwriting and managing a profitable North American book of business which, at the time, was more than $50 million written premium. He also served as Assistant Vice President at the first US insurance agency specializing in wind energy products.

Katie Davies

CEO
Katie Davies has over 20 years of experience underwriting US property insurance on an E&S, admitted, and program basis. Prior to joining Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers and PERse, Katie spent nine years as president of AmWINS Special Risk Underwriters. Before her role at AmWINS, Katie worked for Chubb (formerly ACE Limited), first as a US property underwriter at the AGM 2488 syndicate in Lloyd’s of London and then as the Midwest regional property manager of ACE’s Global Property unit in Chicago. Katie also worked as a broker at Marsh in their New York and London offices, and began her insurance career with an internship with Aon in London.
